saudi visa processing

What is Visa Processing Time?

For international pilgrims applying from outside Saudi Arabia, the processing time for an Umrah visa primarily depends on the method used to apply:

1. Electronic Visa (eVisa) via the Nusuk Platform

If you are from a country eligible for the online eVisa or are booking directly through the official Saudi Nusuk Umrah platform, the process is highly automated.

  • Standard Processing: 24 to 72 hours (1 to 3 days).
  • Express Processing: Often approved within 24 hours if all submitted documentation is perfect.

2. Traditional Tourist Visa / Visa on Arrival

If you hold a valid US, UK, or Schengen visa, or belong to one of the 60+ countries eligible for a Saudi Tourist Visa (which allows you to perform Umrah), the processing time is nearly instant.

  • eVisa Portal: Approved within minutes to a few hours.

3. Application via Package/Authorized Travel Agencies

If you are applying from a country where direct Nusuk eVisa applications aren’t fully supported for independent travelers (such as India or Pakistan) and you must use a licensed Umrah travel agent:

  • Standard Processing: 3 to 7 working days.

Key Requirements that Prevent Delays

To ensure your visa is processed within the standard 24–72 hour window, Saudi authorities require specific steps to be completed before you submit the final visa application:

  • Pre-booked Logistics: You must have a confirmed, Nusuk-compliant hotel booking and transportation confirmation. Private rentals (like Airbnb) are not accepted.
  • Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your intended travel date.
  • Timing: The Umrah visa is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance (not the entry date), meaning you must enter Saudi Arabia within 30 days of it being granted. Once inside the Kingdom, you can stay for up to 90 days.
